weekly reflection paper

Reflection Papers: During the weeks that there is NOT an out-of-class activity, students will complete a short reflection (150-200 words) of that week’s readings as they relate to a current event/news story. Students will choose one news article relevant to the week’s readings write a two paragraph paper with one paragraph as a reiteration of the main themes of the readings and the second a quick recap of the article and how it relates to the required readings.  

To reiterate: 2 paragraphs 1-     a recap of the week’s readings (BOTH) 2-     How they relate to your chosen article   The paper will need to include a link to the chosen article (please copy and paste it after your reflection). Students will need to find an international news site such as (but not limited to) Associated Press, Reuters, BBC, Al Jazeera, Deutche Welle, Sky News, The Independent, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Guardian, Afrik.com, PanAfrican News Agency, LatinAmerican Post, etc. Students will be graded on their ability to understand and synthesize the material as well as recognize those same themes in the world around them.

Due dates will be 11:59pm every Sunday of the week the readings are due. Each week one is due will be marked by an “*” on the course outline.
