Part 1: Assessment Data Analysis
In your analysis, you must include the following:
o Descriptive Statistics: Using a tool such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, calculate the descriptive statistics of the data set. This analysis can be done on questions and overall scores. You must analyze at least five questions in addition to an overall statistical analysis. Include your calculations and a one-sentence description of what each statistic means for the following:

o Standard deviation
o Shape of the distribution

o Statistical Analysis: Provide a thorough analysis that details what the descriptive statistics mean. Consider the following questions:
• How do the descriptive statistics help provide context to the data?
• What information can be gleaned from the descriptive statistics?
o Trends and Observations: Consider the overall trends and observations based on your data analysis. Include the following:
• Areas of Success: According to the data, the students were most successful in which areas? How do you know?
o Areas of Improvement: According to the data, the students were least successful in which areas?
• How do you know? Based on the data, were there any specific topics in which all of the students struggled?
o Correlation and Causation: As you examine the data, compare the standards being evaluated. Based on the interaction of these standards and your expert knowledge of the content, briefly discuss how the standards are related to one another. Answer the following questions:
• How might the success or failure in one standard cause or correlate to the success or failure in another standard?
• What implication will this later have on remediation?
o Group: Identify the various groups present and provide a thorough analysis of the trends and observations you make from the data. Identify each type of classification (gender, ethnicity, SPED/ELL, etc.). Groups should also include students who answered the same questions incorrectly, students who were particularly successful, and so on. For at least three of the groups, answer the following question:
• What conclusions about the group can you draw from the data?
o Data Reliability: Conclude your analysis with a brief discussion about data reliability. As you discuss this, keep in mind the original context of the data set presented to you. Answer the following questions:
• What factors should be implemented to make data collection as valid and reliable as possible?
• What factors might make data, such as this assessment, less reliable?
• How do you determine when sources of student data are appropriate and relevant?

To complete this portion of this project:
You will analyze the assessment data by providing descriptive statistics and thorough observations about the data with respect to areas of student struggle and success at both individual and group levels. This should be 4-6 pages in length.

Part 2: Remediation Plan

In your remediation plan, you must include:
1. Remediation Plan Overview: The overview will explain your general approach to remediation strategies in an online environment. It must include the following:
• Research and Theory: Include an introduction that cites at least two credible sources. Briefly describe your own remediation best practices based on the research that you include.
• Maintaining Academic Rigor: Explain how you ensure that you are able to maintain academic rigor with remediation practices.
• Flexibility of Approach: Explain how your approach will be able to meet the various needs of your students based on their unique backgrounds, classifications, and knowledge. Discuss differentiation and scaffolding strategies for remediation here.
2. Remediation Action Plan: The action plan is where you will share the specific steps that you plan to take with your students based on the data. Keep in mind that your action plan is for an online teaching environment. It must include the following:
• Individuals: Select three individuals from the data set and complete a remediation plan that includes the

• Areas of Focus: Describe the specific standards or themes that will be your focus with this student, and
• explain why you have selected them, citing the data set as needed.
• Methods of Remediation: Explain how you will provide remediation to this student, providing details about why you selected each method.
• Evaluation Criteria: Describe how you will know that your remediation plan has or has not been successful.

3. Groups: For each of the groups you selected in the assessment data analysis, complete a remediation plan that includes the following:
• Areas of Focus: Describe the specific standards or themes that will be your focus with this group, and explain why you have selected them, citing the data set as needed.
