This course will involve a major research paper that demonstrates understanding of the program objectives. The paper will be 45-50 pages and demonstrate understanding of social science research methodology. Students electing this option must use this as one of the graduate electives.

This course will involve a major research paper or thesis project that demonstrates understanding of and ability to implement the program objectives. The research paper and thesis option will demonstrate understanding of social science research methodology as it applies to the program of study. The paper will be 45-50 pages and demonstrate understanding of social science research methodology.

After successfully completing this course, you will be able to:

CO-1: Develop a research project that analyzes and evaluates a problem
in the field of emergency management.
CO-2: Design a research process that gathers data, applies an appropriate methodology, and draws the appropriate conclusions.
CO-3: Synthesize recommendations that improve theory and operations in the field of emergency management.
